Esther Gutstein is a bold and brilliant painter whose work is currently on display at . Her first professional experience with art was using the medium to work with children who have autism but her passion now is to express the dynamic flow of paint between self and canvas. Her favorite medium is oils and through the grand and small strokes of the brush she portrays her life and describes her work as Pentimento. "The reappearance in a painting of an underlying image that has been painted over usually when the later painting becomes transparent with age. Chances are if you get a rag soak it in acetone and wipe off the top layer you will find a completely different painting underneath; sometimes four or five." At only twenty-five Esther shows a passion, wisdom and handling of the medium well beyond her years. While her work is original it is not painted for originality. Rather she engages the viewer with a bold and shocking emotional experience and a strength that it is both pleasant and disconcerting.
